FläktGroup has developed its ISYteq 4.0 control platform for eQ Master air handling units. The system combines factory-configured controls, demand-based operation, energy monitoring and building management system connectivity.
Sensors, actuators and other control components connect to a bus system, with external cabling routed through a cable trunk and linked by quick connectors near the AHU block joints. FläktGroup says this arrangement can save up to 40 hours of electrical installation time, depending on unit complexity. The controls are pre-configured and factory-tested to reduce commissioning work.
The switch cabinet can be installed on the inspection side, mounted on hinges at the end wall or supplied separately for wall mounting. BACnet integration can reduce a system integrator’s workload by 48–72 hours, or two to three days, compared with other communication protocols, using automatic EDE file generation in the DDC.
The web-based interface is available through the 7 in (17.8 cm) ISYteq Touch 7.1 panel or through a browser on a phone, tablet or PC connected to the DDC. Seven operating profiles are available, including Off, Boost and Night Purge. Profiles can be selected through the internal scheduler, a digital input or BMS integration.
The native BACnet B-BC controller supports BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU. A standard 4G modem and inactive SIM card enable future connection to the subscription-based ISYteq Cloud, which provides remote access, trend logs, alarm lists and email or SMS functions.
Additional functions include automatic pressure balancing for rotary heat exchangers, control of temperature and humidity in up to two zones, three associated fans and primary heating or cooling water circuits. FläktGroup says enthalpy-based sorption wheel control can reduce required cooling-coil power by up to 40%. Component-level energy monitoring is also included, and the platform is designed to meet upcoming Ecodesign requirements for air handling units.
