Danfoss Climate Solutions has launched a new production line at its factory in Monterrey, Mexico, to assemble oil-free check (OFC) valves used with Danfoss Turbocor oil-free compressors. The investment is intended to shorten delivery times and strengthen supply chains for North American customers.
The new line follows the expansion of the Monterrey factory, which doubled its capacity. Danfoss has since introduced production of scroll compressors, BOCK compressors, sensors and microchannel heat exchangers at the facility.
OFC valve production will support North American OEM customers using Turbocor compressors in chillers and heat pumps. Danfoss said customers can expect reduced lead times and gradual USMCA approval. Ultimately, 12 models will be produced in Monterrey, with 3 1/8-inch and 4 1/8-inch steel or solder flange options, with or without ball valves, and in regular or compact sizes.
The OFC valve combines a ball valve-style shut-off and a check valve. According to Danfoss, it reduces discharge pressure drop while increasing capacity and efficiency in Turbocor-based applications. Other features include an integrated stop function, damped check valve function, integrated diffuser elbow and integrated staging port.
