Australian Refrigeration Council appoints five new board directors

Andrew Ambrose takes the chair as the refreshed board continues governance of the ARCtick scheme and its co-regulatory model.

Australian Refrigeration Council appoints five new board directors

The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has appointed five new directors to its six-member board, representing Australia’s stationary HVAC&R and automotive sectors. Andrew Ambrose of Refrigerant Australia has been appointed Chairperson, succeeding Dr Greg Picker, while Mark Rowe of VASA has been named Deputy Chairperson.

The new directors are Ambrose, representing the stationary sector; Rowe, representing the mobile sector; Michael Hamilton of AMCA, stationary; Paul Campbell of RRA, mobile; and Sami Zheng of AIRAH, stationary. Nigel Muller of VACC will continue serving on the board.

ARC said its board consists of three directors responsible for the stationary sector and three representing the automotive, or mobile, sector. Directors are elected by the membership, while the ARC CEO serves as Executive Director.

Ambrose brings global business, strategic and governance leadership experience to ARC. Rowe has more than 35 years of hands-on industry experience as a business owner and operator in the automotive electrical sector.

Outgoing board members whose terms ended are Chair Greg Picker of RA, Kylie Farrelley of RRA, Ian Stangroome of VASA, Dain Venning of NECA and Scott Williams of AMCA. ARC said the new board will continue governance of the ARCtick scheme and build on its 21-year co-regulatory model.

“The last year has been one of progress and an unwavering unity of purpose,” said Mark Lamb, ARC CEO. “It is through our collective commitment to advancing the ARCtick scheme that we continue to move the industry forward.”
