Daikin launched its Urusara X R Series room air conditioner for the Japanese market, with sales scheduled to begin on November 1, 2026. The 2027 model adds a low-airflow sleep mode for quieter overnight cooling and an outdoor-temperature-linked Heat Boost Control that increases heating output when ambient temperature falls to 2°C or below.
The new sleep mode combines temperature control based on expected changes in body temperature with reduced airflow to limit discomfort from direct air movement. On 2.2–2.8 kW models, maximum operating sound is rated at 35 dB or less under the specified cooling and automatic airflow conditions. The function also operates at “low” airflow or below, while models above 2.8 kW include the same mode with different sound levels.
Heat Boost Control increases both heating capacity and airflow when outdoor temperature is 2°C or lower. In Daikin tests using a 4.0 kW AN407ARP model in a 14-tatami environmental test room, the unit reached a 22°C setpoint in about 14 minutes, compared with about 18 minutes for the previous AN406ARP model. The area near floor level reaching at least 22°C after 10 minutes was about 1.2 times larger than with the previous model.
Daikin has also fitted a compressor optimized for higher efficiency at low-capacity operation across the full 2.2–8.0 kW Urusara X range. The design targets operating conditions in highly airtight and insulated homes, where air conditioners can spend longer periods running at reduced output. The range includes 100 V and 200 V models covering nominal applications from six to 26 tatami rooms, with open pricing.
The wider 2027 wall-mounted room air conditioner lineup meets Japan’s fiscal 2027 energy-efficiency standards. The F, C and E Series retain 250 mm-high indoor units in the 2.2–2.8 kW classes for installations with limited space, while the risora SP Series remains in the lineup as a slim indoor-unit option for residential heating and cooling.
