The Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) is inviting entries for its Beyond Refrigeration Environmental Award, recognising projects that reduce environmental emissions from cooling systems and support the transition to net zero. Applications are open until 11 November 2026.
The award is open to refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump projects across industrial, commercial and domestic applications. Entries should demonstrate measurable environmental and energy performance benefits while advancing industry best practice.
Projects must address at least four of the seven priorities in the IOR’s Beyond Refrigeration framework. Priorities cited by the IOR include system performance, energy efficiency, skills development and whole-life thinking.
The winning project will be recognised at the IOR Annual Dinner on 25 February 2027 and will have an opportunity to present its work as part of the IOR technical programme. Nominations can be submitted through the award page at www.ior.org.uk/about/IOR-awards/beyond-refrigeration-environment-award.
