In 2018, the refrigeration market continued to recover after a significant drop in 2015. Imports of refrigeration equipment as a whole increased by 4% and imports of refrigeration compressors by 6.1% compared to the previous period.
Imports to Russia amounted to $1.15 billion, which is 4% higher compared to the previous period. However, this is about 25% less than the annual supply in 2011-2013.

One of the key and reliable indicators of the country's refrigeration market is the import of refrigeration compressors, as foreign-made compressors prevail on the Russian market.

In 2018, Imports of compressors used in refrigeration equipment (HS code 841430) increased by 6% compared to the previous period and amounted to $326 million.

More than half of imports (56%) was supplied from 4 countries: China, Belarus, Italy, Germany. At the same time, 46% of the volume of imports are supplies from the EU.
Please note, the large share Belorus' imports is reimport equipment from EU.
Refrigeration compressors imports

In the TOP-10 suppliers of refrigeration compressors, we can note a decrease in imports from Korea - by 12%, an increase in imports from China, France, Japan (by 11-14%) and a sharp increase in supplies from the Czech Republic - by 58%, from 8.5 to $13.5 million.
In 2018, exports of refrigeration equipment from Russia amounted to $ 355 million, which is 21% more than in the previous period.
