Free REAL Alternatives webinar

In light of the F-gas regulation revision proposal that is expected in spring 2022, the REAL Alternatives Consortium is hosting an online event on 2nd March to present and discuss international training for technicians focusing on flammable refrigerants and carbon dioxide. The webinar will be held in English and translated in four languages (Armenian, Czech, Italian and Turkish), thus making it accessible to technicians across many European countries.

The event will feature presentations and short trainings from international leading experts. Starting with a general introduction by the IIF-IIR Director General Didier Coulomb, the attendees will also be welcomed by some of the project’s Stakeholders (CNI Spain, Shirakatsy Lyceum Armenia, AGFR Romania, SCHKT Czech Republic and SZCHKT Slovak Republic), who will share their training and certification experiences across Europe. The webinar will also include a real-life case study of the programme’s great impact on skills in a Polish company, thanks to the project partner’s Prozon engagement.

The British project partners, London South Bank University and the Institute of Refrigeration, will further illustrate the evolution of REAL Alternatives and its e-learning experience, with presentations by Prof Graeme Maidment and IOR CEO Miriam Rodway.

Starting at 11 am (CET), the participants will be able to sample some of the REAL Alternatives trainings a lesson on “Good practices for Flammable Refrigerants” by Marino Bassi, Expert Trainer for Associazione Tecnici del Freddo & Centro Studi Galileo; this will be followed by “Good practices for Carbon Dioxide” by Kıvanç Aslantaş, international Expert Trainer and SOSIAD Board Member.

The webinar will conclude at about 1 pm, after the final wrap up and debate session, moderated by Marco Buoni, AREA President and ATF Secretary General. The attendees will have several opportunities to interact with the expert panellists and the other participants, and ask questions during the Q&A sessions.  The webinar, which is free to attend, will be essential listening for those working in the sector who wish to improve their understanding of how issues around  safety and training in the use of low GWP refrigerants  are being addressed.
