Americold has inaugurated a major cold storage facility in Dubai, developed through its joint venture RSA Cold Chain and in partnership with DP World. Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), the site is Americold’s largest operation in the Middle East and aims to enhance regional and global food distribution.
The facility offers 40,000 pallet positions and supports bonded and non-bonded storage across multiple temperature zones. With 27 docks, smart monitoring systems, rooftop solar panels, and direct road access to mainland UAE, the site is designed to facilitate sea-to-land distribution throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Targeting quick service restaurants, grocery retailers, and quick commerce platforms, the facility provides services such as piece, case, and pallet-level handling, co-packaging, inventory cycling, and customs-compliant break-bulk consolidation. It is ISO 22000 and HACCP certified, meeting international food safety standards.
“This facility is designed for tomorrow’s supply chain, digitally enabled, scalable, and resilient,” said Abhishek Shah, Co-Founder & CEO of RSA Cold Chain.
Americold’s investment follows its strategic entry into RSA Cold Chain in February 2023 and a broader global partnership with DP World, initiated in November 2022. The new hub joins Americold’s existing import-export facilities in Kansas City and Port Saint John.
