Carrier Global Corporation to Acquire Berlinger & Co. AG’s Monitoring Solutions Business

Carrier Global Corporation, through its Sensitech business, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Monitoring Solutions business of Berlinger & Co. AG. Berlinger, a Swiss family-owned company, specializes in innovative solutions for monitoring temperature-sensitive goods in the pharmaceutical and life science sectors. 

Expanding Sensitech’s Portfolio

Bhasker Kaushal, Vice President & General Manager of Sensitech and Refrigeration Aftermarket, stated, “The acquisition of Berlinger’s monitoring business is an exciting opportunity for Sensitech to expand our portfolio of monitoring solutions for pharma supply chains and accelerate growth in strategically important adjacencies. Innovative Solutions and Technologies

Berlinger brings a range of proprietary hardware and software solutions to Sensitech’s cold chain monitoring product portfolio. Key technologies include:
  • SmartSystem Platform: Enables modular, real-time, end-to-end monitoring via fully integrated, rechargeable temperature monitoring devices and a cloud-based software platform.
  • Fridge-tag: Designed for vaccine fridges and refrigerated site-monitoring.
  • Proprietary Software and Analytics: Automates the end-to-end stability and validation process for clinical trials.
Andrea Berlinger, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Berlinger Group, expressed confidence in the acquisition, stating, “We are absolutely convinced that Sensitech can successfully further develop our Berlinger & Co. AG business together with its skilled and dedicated employees.”

The Monitoring Solutions business of Berlinger includes approximately 85 employees based in Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United States.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized in Q3-2024.
