Carrier Transicold has introduced a major update to its Carrier Lynx Fleet telematics platform, enhancing analytics, diagnostics and integration capabilities for temperature-controlled and dry van fleets across North America. The updated platform provides deeper insights into transport refrigeration unit (TRU) performance, supports electric TRUs, and facilitates integration with existing fleet management systems.
The new features include advanced analytics and remote diagnostics that allow real-time access to key performance metrics such as location, temperature, battery voltage, fuel levels, engine hours, and more. TRU Health, a new dashboard tool, consolidates performance indicators to help fleet managers prioritize maintenance based on data rather than manual checks or time-based alerts.
A redesigned telematics module supports cellular and satellite communications and includes a rechargeable battery that provides up to 10 days of data transmission without vehicle power. The module accommodates up to five temperature sensors for multizone refrigerated trailers and supports CAN bus and Bluetooth Low Energy connections for improved data reliability.
Lynx Fleet now also supports dry van assets and third-party TRUs, enabling users with mixed fleets to monitor all vehicles from a single platform. An expanded API toolkit allows seamless integration with most transportation management systems, facilitating data sharing across platforms regardless of manufacturer.
The system is optimized for Carrier Transicold’s battery-electric eCool eTRU units, offering dedicated tracking of battery status, charging cycles, and health history. Lynx Fleet hardware comes standard on Carrier Transicold X4 and Vector 8000 trailer and rail units, and can be retrofitted to other Carrier truck and trailer TRUs. Additional components and data plans are available through authorized dealers.
“The Lynx Fleet platform takes TRU visibility and control to the next level with unprecedented insights and the ability to optimize performance like never before,” said James Brand, Digital Product Manager for Lynx Fleet Telematics.
