CEBA opens final call for 2025 Built By the Best cold chain awards

The Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) has issued a final call for entries to its 2025 Built By the Best Awards, with the submission deadline set for July 31. The global awards recognize excellence in the design and construction of controlled environment facilities and are open to CEBA members and partners worldwide.

Run by CEBA, part of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), the Built By the Best Awards spotlight construction projects that demonstrate high standards in quality, sustainability, safety, and technical innovation. New categories introduced this year expand the program’s reach across a broader range of cold chain facility types.

The 2025 edition includes three award categories: Controlled Environment Cold Storage & Distribution Warehouses (including conventional to fully automated systems), Processing/Manufacturing Facilities emphasizing controlled environment features, and Special Works Projects such as expansions, tenant improvements, and retrofits.

Projects must have been completed between January 2024 and March 2025. Eligible entrants include teams with a CEBA member contractor or design-build firm, along with processors, warehouse operators, logistics providers, or end users globally.

Finalists will present their projects at the CEBA Annual Conference and Expo 2025, taking place in Las Vegas from November 3–5. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges drawn from non-submitting CEBA Board and Committee members.

GCCA President and CEO Sara Stickler stated: “The Built by the Best award acknowledges expertise and innovation in constructing, renovating or modernizing controlled environment buildings around the world. We are pleased to welcome entries to our new award categories through the July 31 submission deadline.”
