Constellation Cold Logistics acquires cold storage providers in the Netherlands and Denmark

Constellation Cold Logistics has announced two strategic acquisitions to strengthen its European cold-storage network, expanding its footprint in both the Netherlands and Denmark.

In the Netherlands, Lau van Haren Cold Stores B.V., a long-standing family-run cold storage business, has joined Constellation. Located in the mid-east of the country, the facility offers approximately 15,000 pallet positions of frozen capacity, along with blast freezing, re-packing, and transport distribution services. This marks the introduction of re-packing and blast-freezing capabilities to Constellation’s Dutch network. The Van Haren family, whose business dates back to 1929, will continue to lead operations, ensuring continuity for employees and customers.

In Denmark, Constellation has agreed to acquire the main cold storage facility of JN-Spedition East in Køge, located on the east coast of Zealand, approximately 40 km south of Copenhagen. The site adds 20,000 pallet positions to Constellation’s Danish operations and provides access to JN-Spedition East’s expertise in domestic and international temperature-controlled logistics. Kenneth Bell will continue to lead operations in Køge, supported by the existing team.

Geert Liefhooghe, Managing Director, Constellation Benelux & France, stated:
“We are delighted to welcome the Lau van Haren team into the Constellation family. Their strategic location, high-quality cold-storage capacity, and unique service offering particularly re-packing and specialist export capabilities strengthen our network and service portfolio in the Netherlands.”

Jan Nielsen, Managing Director, Constellation Nordics, added:
“We are delighted to welcome the Køge team to the Constellation family. Their customer-focussed culture, high-quality cold store facility, and unique geographical location further strengthen our network and service portfolio in the Nordics.”

Constellation Cold Logistics now operates across eight European countries with more than 1 million pallet positions. These acquisitions reflect its ongoing strategy to build a unified, high-quality cold storage network across Europe while maintaining local operational agility.
