Constellation Cold Logistics has signed an agreement to acquire Locagel and Transfreeze, two French companies specialising in temperature-controlled storage and refrigerated transport. The proposed transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to integrate the companies into the Constellation group on 1 July 2026.
The acquisition would expand Constellation’s footprint in France and strengthen its European network with additional capacity and value-added services. Locagel and Transfreeze operate a site in northern France with direct access to major motorway networks, supporting domestic and international supply chains.
The facility offers approximately 36,000 frozen pallet positions, as well as blast-freezing, order picking and repacking services. It also provides distribution and transport services, enabling an integrated end-to-end logistics solution for retail, foodservice and food manufacturing customers.
Locagel was founded in 1990 and started with an initial capacity of 5,000 pallet positions. Following completion of the transaction, the Locagel and Transfreeze teams will support the transition process to ensure business continuity for employees, customers and partners.
“We will be delighted to welcome the Locagel and Transfreeze teams to the Constellation group. Their strategic location and the complementary nature of their services — particularly in repacking and specialised export operations — will strengthen both our network and our service offering in France,” said Geert Liefhooghe, Managing Director of Constellation Benelux & France.
Constellation is an independent provider of temperature-controlled warehousing and cold chain logistics in Europe. The group operates across nine countries and offers more than one million pallet positions.
