DP World opens of the Lusaka Commercial Cold Store

DP World is pleased to announce the opening of the Lusaka Commercial Cold Store (LCCS) in Lusaka, Zambia. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to revolutionize the cold storage industry in Zambia, meeting the needs of local meat, poultry and fish producers, as well as the growing foodservice and retail sectors.

Deep Catch Group, a division of DP World's Market Access Consumer division, specializes in the wholesale, distribution and cold storage of fast food products. With a successful track record of providing strategic storage solutions in South Africa and Namibia, Deep Catch is now expanding its offerings to Zambia.

LCCS is designed to suit Zambia's unique climate, including dedicated areas such as cold rooms for freezing, cold storage, dry goods warehouse and food processing area. The facility includes a receiving and shipping area with efficient mobile and stationary pallet handling systems.

Once fully operational, LCCS will have a capacity of up to 5,500 pallets distributed across freezing, refrigeration and dry storage areas. This extensive capacity provides efficient inventory management for businesses dependent on cold storage solutions.
