FreezPak opens temperature-controlled facility in Massachusetts

FreezPak Logistics has opened a temperature-controlled logistics facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, to serve the greater Boston area and New England. The company said the site supports its Northeast expansion and its wider plan to build a coast-to-coast cold storage network in the US.

The facility provides up to 12,789,000 cubic feet (approx. 362,144 cubic meters) of temperature-controlled capacity. FreezPak said the site is designed to meet demand for cold chain infrastructure in New England and the broader Northeast corridor.

Services at the site include cold storage, container plugin, crossdocking, container unloading, transportation, repacking, ecommerce fulfillment, customs bonded services and USDA/FSIS inspections. According to the company, the location also offers access to the port and major highway corridors linking Boston, Providence and other markets.

FreezPak said the facility will support import/export and supply chain operations for food distribution, pharmaceuticals, seafood and other perishable goods. The Massachusetts opening follows recent launches in Jacksonville, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, and adds to the company’s sites in Chicago, Illinois, Houston, Texas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Suffolk, Virginia, and multiple New Jersey locations.
