Lineage Announces Plans to Expand Hobart, Indiana Facility

Lineage announced an expansion of its facility located at 2201 Northwind Parkway in Hobart, Indiana is underway.

As planned, the expansion will transform the current Hobart site with the addition of a fully automated warehouse spanning more than 188,000 square feet with approximately 58,000 pallet positions and featuring advanced automation capabilities for inbound, outbound, and layer picking – optimizing the process of picking and organizing thousands of cases daily.

“We are excited for the expansion of our Hobart warehouse, which will allow us to better serve our customers delivering to retail and foodservice markets,” said Greg Bryan, Chief Integrated Solutions Officer at Lineage. “Not only will this major investment bring more automation and innovation to our network, but it will also help to accelerate our efforts with the Velocities MVC program that has proven successful in optimizing customer shipments and scheduled deliveries."

Lineage’s Velocities Multi-Vendor Consolidation (MVC) program offers a comprehensive logistics solution for retail and foodservice customers, seamlessly integrating transportation and warehousing services. This program optimizes inventory management, consolidating customer shipments into efficient truckloads, providing cost-effective shared truckload delivery, improving lead times and streamlining operations through a single 3PL provider.

The existing Hobart facility is already home to one of the region's Velocities MVC programs and serves as a link in Lineage’s Canada cross border program. The expansion of the site will help centralize these operations and provide additional capacity for customers, improving efficiencies in supply chains to provide enhanced service and opportunities for growth.

It is expected the Hobart site will have nearly 100,000 traditional and automated pallet position spaces and 76 total dock doors after the expansion is complete. Lineage anticipates more than 100 new jobs will be created as a result of this project. The expansion is expected to be in operation by summer 2025.
