Maersk Opens New Logistics Facility in El Paso, Texas
A.P. Moller – Maersk has inaugurated a new 402,000-square-foot facility in El Paso, Texas, to meet the increasing demand for logistics services at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Strategically located five minutes from the Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, the facility ensures fast and flexible cross-border trade between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The Ysleta Port of Entry at the bridge serves as the largest commercial port in El Paso and a vital trade corridor for northbound goods from Juárez. This prime location along a major route facilitates truck traffic moving north, south, east, and west, leveraging Interstate 10.

The multiclient facility features 73 dock doors, two ramps for oversized cargo, and 116 truck yard spaces, designed for efficient cargo receipt, separation, consolidation, and distribution across North America using Maersk’s ground freight network. It also has 24-hour surveillance and a fully fenced yard for added security.

As a customs bonded warehouse, the facility allows customers to delay duty payments until merchandise is released for consumption or re-exported. The site includes an 80,000-square-foot Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), offering duty-free storage for goods indefinitely. Additionally, customers can rent office space within the facility, providing authorized personnel with convenient access to their inventory.

The facility adheres to Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) standards, a CBP voluntary trade partnership program aimed at securing and facilitating legitimate international trade. It also boasts ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management systems.

Serving various industries, including automotive, healthcare, retail, and technology, the El Paso facility offers services such as cargo sorting, storage, cross docking, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Value-added solutions include reverse logistics, kitting, and vendor management. Other services encompass Less-than-Container Load (LCL), full-container load (FCL), Maersk Ground Freight (LTL, FTL, Cross-Border FTL and LTL), air freight consolidations, and expedited freight services.

With over 150 warehousing facilities totaling more than 26 million square feet across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Maersk continues to expand its logistics network. Recently, in March, Maersk opened a new warehouse facility in Tijuana, Mexico, further bolstering its presence in North America.
