Marshall Fleet Solutions have donated a Thermo King T-500 unit to The City of Liverpool College. MFS work closely with the college in their combined delivery of training to the current cohort of apprentices. The apprentices are working towards their Level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering qualification, and their practical training comes from hands on work in the transport refrigeration industry and mentoring from experienced MFS Engineers.
The donated T-500 unit – which would normally be found fitted above the cab of a refrigerated vehicle – was delivered to the college last month and now sits in their specialist training room. Pictured above on the day of delivery are MFS representatives Mick Ward, Head of Regions and Installs and David Darrington, Technical Training Manager alongside Lynton Perry, Senior Lecturer and Lindsey Meadows, Head of Work Based Learning both from The City of Liverpool College.
This refrigeration unit will be a great asset to the college in helping them deliver the highest standard of training to the transport refrigeration engineers of the future. On receipt of the unit Lynton Perry said “The City of Liverpool College is thrilled to receive the donation of this T-500 Over-cab Transport Refrigeration Unit. Having this incredible gift will allow students and apprentices within the College to access high quality and industry current training that will further enhance their skills and improve the overall quality of their learning. We look forward to working with Marshall well into the future in the continued development of the Transport Refrigeration industry.”
David Darrington, who is responsible for all aspects of refrigeration training for MFS Engineers, not only at apprenticeship level but throughout their careers, says “Now that Liverpool College have a Thermo King TRU in the workshop it gives us a great opportunity to showcase the Transport Refrigeration sector throughout the refrigeration industry. It is also great to be working with Lynton Perry and his team supporting and assisting with the development of our current apprentices and hopefully one day they will deliver a Transport Refrigeration Qualification to our apprentices of the future.”
