NewCold has announced a major expansion of its cold storage facility in Argentan, Normandy, France. The project, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026, will double the site’s storage capacity to meet increasing demand from long-term partner YSCO and other regional food companies.
The Argentan site, originally part of Partner Logistics Europe (PLE), became NewCold’s first official location and has operated for over a decade. The facility has played a central role in supporting NewCold’s international network, with staff contributing to technical projects and start-ups at other sites.
The planned expansion represents an investment of over €50 million (approx. USD 53 million). According to the company, the upgrade will enhance its ability to deliver energy-efficient logistics solutions and reflects a strong commitment to the Normandy region.
The site is currently piloting automation technologies, including autonomous mobile robots and Movu’s 3D shuttle systems, as part of its focus on innovation and sustainability. Local teams are also engaged in energy-saving and environmental protection initiatives.
“Argentan represents the heart of NewCold’s story, it’s where our journey truly began. This expansion is not only a major investment in our operations but also in the people and communities of Normandy,” said Patrick Duquennoy, NewCold Country Manager France.
