As part of its growth strategy, the pfenning logistics group will develop, build and commission additional multicube logistics centers with a storage and logistics area of up to 300,000 m² over the next five years. In Bad Hersfeld, the freshcube will be built in 2021, a multi-temperature warehouse on a 38,000 m² site. The same applies to the construction of a multicube in Grünheide near Berlin on an area of 40,000 m², where the pfenning logistics administration center in Hoppegarten will also move into the new multi-user logistics property. There are final plans for another multicube logistics center in the Baden-Baden area. In addition, new logistics buildings are planned in the vicinity of Hamburg and in the area around Leipzig. In total, a mid three-digit million amount is being invested.

The need for storage and logistics space is increasing - and not just since Corona. But the pandemic has brought them into focus as a supply buffer in the event of interrupted or stalled supply chains. At the same time, they offer space for modern contract logistics concepts. "At the latest with the effects of Corona, issues such as security of supply and the associated new distribution concepts have taken on an important role in European logistics," confirms Rana Matthias Nag, Managing Director of the pfenning Group. "We are responding to the increased demand for warehouse and logistics capacities with the comprehensive construction of highly flexible logistics centers."
