Sogedim Unveils High-Tech Temperature-Controlled Warehouse Near Milan

Sogedim, a leader in temperature-controlled logistics, announced the opening of a state-of-the-art, multi-cell, multi-temperature warehouse near Milan. This new facility is designed to meet the growing demands of the agri-food, wine, and pharmaceutical industries, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of perishable products across Italy, Europe, and worldwide.

Since its inception in 2016, Sogedim has specialized in cold chain logistics, offering services that cover a temperature range from -22°C to +15°C. The new 25,000 sqm logistics platform features 40 loading bays and more than 20,000 pallet spaces, suitable for both positive and negative temperature storage. Located strategically near highway junctions and Malpensa Airport, it is ideally positioned to serve the northwestern Milan area.

In a bid to enhance security and ensure quality management control, the facility is equipped with 250 cameras and a comprehensive perimeter system. This setup provides 360° monitoring, covering every corner of the warehouse both inside and out. The advanced surveillance capabilities even include detailed close-ups that can read product barcodes, guaranteeing total security.

Sogedim has also invested in cutting-edge IT tools to optimize the cold chain process. Real-time tracking, scheduling, booking, and reporting systems provide crucial logistics information, including shipment locations, statuses, and estimated delivery times. These technologies enable Sogedim to deliver quick and effective solutions, critical for the fast-paced retail operations of today's market.

“The consolidated experience, rigorous application of industry regulations, and ability to continuously assist the customer throughout the entire supply chain are the strengths of our Group,” said Tommaso Torri, Chief Operating Officer – Food & Beverage, Sogedim SpA. “Our new facility is a testament to our commitment to excellence and continuous growth.”

The warehouse will officially open on August 1, 2024, following the completion of infrastructure and IT development works. It will support Italian and foreign companies in the agri-food, wine, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics sectors, especially those active in the GDO, HORECA, and E-Commerce channels.

“To stay at the top in this sector, the constant pursuit of improvement in every aspect of technical and managerial management is the lever that has allowed us to become a market leader in temperature-controlled logistics,” said Emanuele Codazzi, CEO of Sogedim SpA. “Our comprehensive service blends advanced technology with expertise for maximum customer satisfaction.”
