Thermo King honors dealers in Brazil and US with community award

Thermo King, the transport refrigeration brand of Trane Technologies, has presented its first Thermo King Community Impact Award to three dealerships in Brazil and the US. The company said the award recognizes dealerships for community involvement, volunteerism and local leadership. The winners were Videfrigo in Brazil, Thermo King Salinas in California, and Thermo King of the Southeast, which serves Florida, Mississippi and Georgia.

According to Thermo King, more than 50 nominations were submitted for the inaugural award. Among the top eight submissions, dealerships reported nearly 240 volunteer hours, support for more than 40 organizations, and monetary donations ranging from $5,000 to more than $20,000. Judging criteria included volunteer participation, charitable contributions, community partnerships, sustainability and environmental initiatives, inclusivity, employee engagement, creativity, longevity of programs and overall impact, while also considering dealership size.

Thermo King said Brazil’s Videfrigo was selected for raising donations for schools, daycare centers and cancer treatment centers, and for collaborating with a local basketball association on youth-focused initiatives. Thermo King of the Southeast recorded more than 160 volunteer hours in 2025 and supported organizations including food banks, veterans, disadvantaged youth and law enforcement. Thermo King Salinas has donated employee time and a refrigerated trailer for a community Thanksgiving dinner since 1986; the company said donations last year filled a 28-foot refrigerated trailer and provided enough food to feed 5,000 people.

The awards were presented at Thermo King’s annual dealer principal meeting. “More than 50 nominations were submitted for our first-ever Thermo King Community Impact Award, a testament to the amazing work being done to uplift our local communities through volunteerism and donations,” said Adam Wittwer, president, Thermo King Americas. Thermo King also said that, through late 2025, about $588,000 had been donated by the company, its dealer network and the Trane Technologies Foundation to support hunger relief programs under its We Move Food initiative, including grants to 36 Feeding America-affiliated food banks.
