Trans-Bridge Freight Services Adopts Carrier Transicold Vector eCool for Pharma Deliveries
Pharmaceutical distributor Trans-Bridge Freight Services has integrated the Carrier Transicold Vector eCool unit into its fleet, enhancing efficiency and sustainability for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical deliveries between the UK and Northern Ireland.

The Vector eCool, attached to a 13.6-metre Gray & Adams trailer, works primarily on electricity generated from the trailer’s kinetic energy and brakes. In emergencies, it can revert to a diesel engine.

Carrier Transicold’s Vector eCool system, an industry-first fully autonomous electric refrigeration unit, emits no direct carbon dioxide or particulate emissions. It complies with PIEK regulations, making it ideal for urban areas and improving the driver's working environment. The trailers can be fully charged in two hours when connected to the electrical grid.

The Vector HE 19 integrates E-Drive technology with a multi-speed engine, offering superior refrigerant containment and significantly reducing carbon emissions. This supports Carrier’s aim to help customers avoid over one gigaton of GHG emissions by 2030.

Trans-Bridge Freight Services’ new unit is supported by Carrier Transicold’s BluEdge full-service maintenance package, covering temperature control testing, regulatory checks, and 24/7 incident management.

Based in Manchester, the Vector eCool-mounted trailer will manage deliveries to the company’s Antrim facility in Northern Ireland, traveling up to 90,000 miles annually.
