COOP Stores in Norway Choose CO₂ Refrigeration System

COOP Stores in Norway Choose CO₂ Refrigeration System

Future-minded retailers are thinking of a long term impact of their technology choices. A great example of it are the two recently opened COOP stores in Norway, operating in an environmentally-friendly transcritical CO₂ system. FREOR gladly contributed to the project by providing energy-efficient refrigeration showcases, which were installed by our partner in Norway NordDisk.

Refrigeration solution for the harsh climate zone

The customers in Vinderbro city can now shop in the 1005 m² COOP store, while Hurdal residents can acquire their groceries at the COOP Prix discount store of a sales area of 684 m². Both stores chose to operate in a transcritical refrigeration system, which uses CO₂ – natural refrigerant ensuring no effect on global warming in case of leakage. The system is well suited for cold climate countries like Norway, as it works effectively in mild or cold temperature conditions.

FREOR has a line of products specially designed to operate in CO₂ refrigeration system. In this case, COOP stores were equipped with Green Wave refrigeration cabinets and freezer islands.

COOP Prix discount store has installed multidecks JUPITER Glass Doors (27,5 m in total).

The COOP store in Vinderbro city operates with FREOR freezer islands HELLA (22,5 m in total), vertical freezers ERIDA (4,68 m in total), and multidecks JUPITER Glass Doors (50 m in total).
