Daikin UK and Eurovent Certification have announced the listing of 65 residential multi-split air-to-air (A2A) heat pump combinations on the UK’s MCS Product Directory, the first products to reach the directory via the Eurovent Certification route.
The listing covers two product families. Forty-five Multi-split combinations range from compact two-room set-ups to five-zone whole-house configurations, each pairing a single outdoor unit with two to five wall-mounted indoor units. A further 20 Multi+ combinations connect up to four indoor units and a domestic hot water tank to one outdoor unit, combining heating, cooling and hot water in a single system. The certified systems use Daikin’s Perfera indoor unit.
The configurations target housing stock that conventional radiator systems reach with difficulty, including flats, smaller terraced properties, and homes with limited space or constrained pipework routes.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is a UK quality assurance scheme for small-scale renewable energy products and installations, setting requirements for efficiency, reliability and safety. Product listing is a required first step towards A2A heat pumps becoming eligible for government support under schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. That eligibility follows only once MCS completes its scheme expansion to cover the technology.
As an MCS Certification Body, Eurovent Certification transferred Daikin’s existing Eurovent-certified product data into the MCS system, so no additional product re-testing was required. The same route can support listing under Eurovent Certified Performance, HP Keymark and NF for Heat Pumps, reducing duplication and cost for manufacturers seeking multiple schemes.
Both companies expect further products to follow as the MCS framework for A2A matures. The listings can be viewed on the MCS Product Directory at mcscertified.com/product-directory.
