Danfoss launches ACE edge controllers for refrigeration and HVAC

Danfoss has introduced its Advanced Control Edge (ACE) family of edge controllers for monitoring, control and optimization of refrigeration and HVAC systems. The platform combines hardware, software and user tools, with AK-EC Lite as the first controller released in the family.

Part of the ADAP-KOOL family, AK-EC Lite is designed for food service operations including quick-service restaurants, institutional kitchens, cafés and bakeries. It connects equipment through a single edge controller and provides a built-in web-based interface for commissioning, monitoring, control and maintenance.

AK-EC Lite supports up to 15 connected devices and 150 historical data logs. Functions include alarm management, live system visibility, historical graphs, reporting, user management and customization. The controller also supports secure remote access and integration of Danfoss and third-party devices using pre-loaded factory device models and built-in integration tools.

The hardware uses a 24 V DC supply requiring an external power supply and supports DIN-rail mounting. Connections include two Ethernet ports, one RS485 port, a USB-A port and an SD card slot. The system uses a responsive HTML5 user interface.

AK-EC Lite will be available for pre-order starting in November 2026, with initial deliveries scheduled for January 2027.
