The Brazilian Association for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (ABRAVA), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) have launched the “Família Refrigeração” campaign to highlight personal stories from Brazil’s HVACR sector.
The initiative aims to showcase families who work in or own businesses of any size in the HVACR industry—ranging from microenterprises to large companies. The campaign will focus on stories that reflect the importance of entrepreneurship and investment in the sector, with an emphasis on refrigeration best practices.
“The HVACR sector in Brazil grows through the work of many families who thrive thanks to their unity, dedication, and love for what they do,” said Frank Amorim, Environmental Analyst at MMA. “With the ‘Família Refrigeração’ campaign, in partnership with ABRAVA and GIZ under the Brazilian HCFC Phase-out Management Plan (PBH), we want to celebrate these stories and show the vital role families play in the industry's prosperity.”
A selection committee will choose ten families whose stories best represent the current landscape of the HVACR sector. These families will be featured at FEBRAVA 2025, the country's largest HVACR industry event. Their stories will be shared through news reports, photographs, social media posts, and posters.
Selected families will receive recognition within the HVACR community, including gift kits, free admission to CONBRAVA, and an ABRAVA training course for one family member. Travel and accommodation for one representative will be provided for families residing outside the São Paulo metropolitan area.
To qualify, families must have at least two members working as technicians, engineers, owners, or in other roles, and must demonstrate commitment to entrepreneurship and refrigeration best practices.
HVACR professionals are encouraged to submit their family’s story with a short text and photos through ABRAVA’s website. Applications are open until July 18, 2025.
