ACCA Takes Pledge to America's Workers at the White House

Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) attended an event at the White House with President Trump to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Pledge to America’s Workers.

This initiative recognizes the crucial role companies play in educating and training the American workforce. Representing ACCA at today’s event were, Barton James, ACCA President and CEO, Eric Knaak, ACCA Chairman of the Board and Vice President and General Manager, Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning, and Luis Serrano, Technician, Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning.

By signing the Pledge to America’s Workers, companies and trade groups commit to creating new opportunities over the next five years for American students and workers, whether through apprenticeships and work-based learning, continuing education, on-the-job training, and re-skilling.

"President Trump's focus on skilled workers is having a positive impact on the heating and air conditioning industry”, says Barton James, ACCA President & CEO. “ACCA and contractors across the country are taking the Administration’s Pledge to America’s Workers, and committing to hiring and training 75,000 men and women over the next five years. We are proud to work with the President and his Administration to achieve these goals.

ACCA recently added new resources to its workforce development program, which is aligned with President Trump’s mission to provide advancement opportunities to America’s workforce. ACCA’s work development program helps contractors get involved with school advisory boards so they can steer education programs toward in-demand jobs like the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry.ACCA hopes to work with Administration officials to arrange educational site visits to ACCA members across the country so they can see firsthand how contractors are creating in-house training programs that will help men and women develop career paths.
