Americold Names Robert S. Chambers as CEO

Americold Realty Trust, Inc., a global provider of temperature-controlled logistics and services, has appointed Robert S. Chambers as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2025. The appointment follows the retirement of George Chappelle, who concludes a four-decade career in the industry.

Chambers brings over 12 years of leadership experience at Americold and a broader background in logistics and supply chain management. He currently serves as the company’s President, leading global operations including commercial strategy, sales, engineering, development, IT, customer experience, and supply chain innovation. His previous roles at Americold include President, Americas; Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer; and Vice President of Commercial Finance.

Prior to joining Americold, Chambers served as Chief Financial Officer of Saia Inc. and held leadership positions at CEVA Logistics. He began his career at KPMG and holds CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant credentials. He also sits on the boards of the Global Cold Chain Alliance and the Stetson University School of Business.

“Rob’s strategic vision and experience make him the ideal leader to guide the company,” said Mark Patterson, Chairman of the Board. “He has demonstrated strong leadership, and we are confident that Rob will continue to advance Americold’s strategic priorities and position it to deliver long-term value.”

“I’m honored to take on the CEO role for Americold,” said Chambers. “We have an opportunity to build on our reputation for service and operational excellence and position Americold as the provider of choice to the world's largest food manufacturers, distributors and retailers.”

Americold has reaffirmed its full-year 2025 financial outlook as communicated on August 7, 2025. The company plans to participate in several upcoming investor conferences, including the 17th Annual Evercore Real Estate Conference (September 3–5), Bank of America 2025 Global Real Estate Conference (September 9–11), and Nareit’s REITworld 2025 Annual Conference (December 8–11).
