Beijer Ref invests in natural refrigerants in Oceania

To further strengthen its position in Oceania, Beijer Ref has acquired the assets of the Australian company, Industrial Refrigeration Components (IRC). Beijer Ref has also entered into an exclusive cooperation agreement for the distribution of LU-VE products. LU-VE is one of Beijer Ref’s partners in heat exchangers, in Australia and New Zealand. The agreements complement Beijer Ref’s strategy when it comes to focusing on natural refrigeration technology.

Beijer Ref will also expand its portfolio in these markets, to include ammonia units (NH3) via SCM Ref Australia, Beijer Ref Australia’s manufacturing operation. Ammonia is one of several refrigerants for environmentally friendly technology.

The investment means that Beijer Ref will strengthen its ability to meet the overall need that exist in the local industrial market – with a complete set of industrial products and components.

As part of the agreement, Australian customers will have the opportunity, via Beijer Ref Australia and SCM Ref Australia, to buy LU-VE products, as well as take part in a wide range of specialized industrial components.

Per Bertland, CEO Beijer Ref, comments:
“This is a very positive development. Our customers can now conveniently take part in Beijer Ref’s wide range of products, both when it comes to commercial, industrial as well as natural refrigerant solutions, while being supported by our Australian branch network.”

IRC has an annual turnover of approximately SEK 20 million, and the company consists of two employees. IRC will be integrated into Beijer Ref Australia’s current organization and has a minor influence on the company’s earnings and position.
