BITZER Celebrates 90 Years of Pioneering Refrigeration Technology

BITZER, a leading innovator and global player in the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump technology sector, proudly celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. Founded in 1934 by the visionary Swabian inventor Martin Bitzer, the company has evolved from a small workshop making thermostatic expansion valves to a premium manufacturer with a presence in 40 countries and over 4,000 employees.
Initially focusing on the production of steel thermostatic expansion valves, BITZER quickly expanded its operations to include compressors, which soon became the core business. Today, BITZER is renowned for setting international standards in its industry, with 75 locations worldwide, demonstrating a remarkable journey of growth and technological advancement.

Thanks to THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, BITZER maintains its independence and continues to champion innovation while ensuring job security. The foundation bridges entrepreneurship with science, research, and art, further solidifying BITZER’s commitment to a sustainable future.

BITZER’s commitment to innovation remains unwavering. The company tirelessly advances energy-efficient solutions in response to global sustainability challenges. With a focus on #morethanacompressor, BITZER enhances its product offerings with complementary components that optimize efficiency. The #greencompetence initiative underscores BITZER’s dedication to education, personal consultation, and the development of future-ready refrigerants.

As BITZER celebrates this significant milestone, the company reflects on its rich history and looks ahead to a future filled with possibilities. The continuous drive for excellence and sustainability at BITZER not only honors its past but also paves the way for a greener, more efficient world.
