Burger Group Partners with technotrans for Sustainable Production

The Burger Group, a leader in drive technology, has made a forward-thinking investment in sustainable cooling by partnering with technotrans to implement a cutting-edge cooling system for its injection molding production in Schonach, Germany. This new system replaces the previous setup and is designed with natural refrigerant R290 (propane), ensuring compliance with stringent environmental regulations while significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Key Highlights

  • Sustainability and Efficiency:
  • The technotrans system uses an underground cold-water tank, reducing the space required and leveraging stable ground temperatures for improved energy efficiency. A single cooling circuit operating at 25°C optimizes performance and lowers operating costs.
  • Natural Refrigerant R290:
  • With a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 3, the system employs R290 for both the heat pump and the compact refrigeration unit, ensuring a future-proof and environmentally friendly solution.
  • Energy Recovery:
  • Waste heat from the cooling system contributes to building heating, aligning with the Burger Group's goal to phase out fossil fuels entirely.
  • Seamless Installation:
  • technotrans ensured uninterrupted production during the transition by providing rental cooling units. Despite challenging weather conditions, the system was installed efficiently and without operational disruptions.

A Model for Sustainable Industry

The new cooling system marks a significant milestone in the Burger Group's journey toward sustainability, reflecting its commitment to eco-friendly production practices. By integrating innovative technology, the partnership with technotrans sets a benchmark for efficient and sustainable industrial cooling solutions.
