CambridgeHOK Refrigeration has clinched a significant £1.5m contract with Stourgarden, one of the UK's largest onion packers and processors, based near Colchester. This deal is set to enhance productivity at Stourgarden's new processing and storage facility with the installation of a secondary Glycol refrigeration system.
Stourgarden processes 75,000 tonnes of Red, Brown, and Pink onions annually, supplying major retailers, global restaurant chains, and food manufacturers. The innovative refrigeration system is designed to be environmentally friendly, utilizing low GWP refrigerant and recovering heat to provide hot water for washdown and general use.
"We are immensely pleased to have secured this prestigious contract," said Hayley Jackson, General Manager of CambridgeHOK Refrigeration. "This partnership underscores our capability in delivering sophisticated bespoke refrigeration systems. We are confident the new system will meet Stourgarden’s high standards and help achieve their long-term growth aspirations."
The design phase is already in progress, with onsite work scheduled to begin in the Autumn.
