CAREL expands range of displays with touch screen

The CAREL range of displays has been expanded with the addition of the pGDx7’’, 10” and 15”, touch screen user interfaces with 7, 10 and 15 inch screens. Following on from the pGDx4.3’’, the new displays guarantee a modern and effective interaction experience and simplify access to the available information.

Colour depth and screen brightness

The displays feature 24-bit colour depth, just like most of the devices we use every day. The Truecolor technology used offers around 16.8 million colours: images therefore have gradual nuances and are pleasant to the human eye. The screen also features very high brightness, up to 500 cd/m2, and is therefore clearly visible even in bright light.

Improved performance

The displays further simplify access to the information available through a smooth and responsive template. Access is user-friendly for all categories of users, reflecting the modern need to apply technology in a way that makes people’s lives easier.

WiFi

One notable improvement is the WiFi connection, now available both on the pGDx4.3” and pGDx7”: these can thus communicate wirelessly with both the control networks and any external devices. The displays can also be used as a Wireless Access Point (WAP) or as a Wireless Client Station. This makes data control even easier.

Resistive touch technology

To obtain a solution that is suitable for the many existing applications, pGDx4.3” and pGDX7” have a screen with resistive touch technology: this is ideal for situations where direct touch may not be possible, such as work gloves that are not compatible with capacitive touch screens.
Finally, insulation from external objects and substances is guaranteed by IP66 protection against dust and water.

LED Bar Notification

A LED bar with different colour variations for notifications is another strength of the pGDx4.3” and pGDX7”. Users can check unit status at any time, without having to approach the display. Each colour can correspond to a different type of status or alarm, making the user interface ‘talk’ visually. Even when the display is in standby, unit status and any alarms are available at a glance, with up to a maximum of eight different notifications.

Built-in probe and front USB

pGDx4.3” and pGDX7’’ differ from other displays on the market due to the built-in temperature and humidity probe. This new feature brings real advantages to the room terminal solution: instead of two separate devices, only one single display is needed to benefit from the features of both devices.
The USB port on the front is another innovation that makes access easier without requiring the use of special instruments. To guarantee an elegant design, the USB port remains hidden from view, cleverly concealed behind the faceplate, while still being easily accessible.
