Carnot has new CO2 distributor for U.S.

Emergent Cold Technologies has signed a distribution agreement to deliver Carnot Refrigeration’s CO₂ systems to customers in several U.S. regions. From left: John Miranda, Emergent Cold Technologies, and Marc-André Lesmerises, Carnot Emergent Cold Technologies, Geneva, Ill., has announced a U.S. distribution agreement with Canadian manufacturer Carnot Refrigeration to deliver Carnot’s CO₂-based products and systems to customers in the East, West, Southeast, and Southwest regions of the U.S. “Carnot's broad-based CO₂ refrigeration application experience and proprietary gas-ejector system will provide significant opportunities in the refrigerated sectors of food retail, food processing, food distribution, and warehousing," said John Miranda, Emergent's founder and chief marketer, who was  previously president of Guntner US.  "Moreover, we see opportunities in the data center cooling sector, with Carnot's patented CO₂ rain cycle system that runs compressor-less more than 80% annually of the year." “The deep knowledge of refrigeration [shown by] Emergent Cold, [John Miranda’s] great approach toward customers that he demonstrated to us over the years [when we did] business with Guntner, the personality of the leader John Miranda, the striving for quality – [these] are the reasons among others why we did this agreement with them,” said Lesmerises. Emergent Cold Technologies, launched last month, is a marketer and seller of emerging refrigeration technologies that use natural refrigerants. The technologies include CO₂ refrigeration systems, low-charge ammonia refrigeration systems, next-generation condensing units, and IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things)-based control systems. Emergent’s commercial and industrial customers include cold-storage warehouses, distribution warehouses, food processing plants, supermarkets, ice rinks, wineries, and data centers. Carnot Refrigeration, Trois-Rivières, Quebec, is a pioneer in the development, engineering, and manufacturing of CO₂-refrigerant products and systems for industrial and commercial cooling and refrigeration applications, including ice rinks, food processing, refrigerated warehouses, data center cooling, and supermarkets. Carnot President Marc-André Lesmerises, who co-founded the company in 2008, was named Person of the Year by Accelerate America magazine in 2016 for helping to launch the use of CO₂ transcritical technology in North American supermarkets such as Sobeys.
