Carrier has become the first manufacturer to receive Eurovent Certified Performance for free cooling air-cooled process chillers designed specifically for data centre applications.
The certification applies to Carrier’s AquaForce 30XF units, which are now verified for energy-efficient performance across all operational modes, including free cooling, mechanical cooling, and mixed cooling. According to Carrier, the certification allows data centre operators to more accurately predict annual energy consumption across different load scenarios.
Eurovent Certified Performance is a recognised mark of independent performance verification for HVAC equipment. It confirms that manufacturers' claims meet operational standards through third-party testing. In this case, it validates the 30XF chiller's Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) and Seasonal Energy Performance Ratio (SEPR), both of which reflect long-term efficiency under variable conditions.

The AquaForce 30XF chillers are engineered for demanding data centre conditions. They operate in outdoor air temperatures from -20°C to 55°C (-4°F to 131°F) and offer cooling capacities between 390 kW and 2,100 kW (111 RT to 597 RT). The units use ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) R-1234ze refrigerant and offer 100% hydronic free cooling to reduce energy use.
