Carrier Earns Recognition from AHR Expo Innovation Awards

Heat pump with Greenspeed Intelligence and Aero 39M air handler recognized for pioneering the future of HVACR technology

Carrier recently earned recognition for two products that will be on display at the 2022 AHR Expo in Las Vegas on January 31 through February 2. The first is the Infinity 24 heat pump with Greenspeed Intelligence, which earned the 2022 AHR Expo Innovation Award in the Heating category. In addition, the Carrier Aero 39M with electronically commutated motor (ECM) direct drive plenum fans was recognized as a finalist in the Ventilation category.

The AHR Expo Innovation Awards honor the most inventive and original products, systems and technologies showcased at each year’s AHR Expo. Products go head-to-head in the following categories: building automation; cooling; heating; indoor air quality; plumbing; refrigeration; software; sustainable solutions; tools & instruments; and ventilation. Winners were selected by a panel of third-party ASHRAE member judges who evaluate all award entries based on innovative design, creativity, application, value and market impact.

The Infinity 24 heat pump is Carrier’s highest-efficiency and most advanced heat pump with ratings up to 24 SEER, up to 13 HSPF, and up to 15 EER for premium energy savings, extremely quiet performance and premium comfort features. The unique, variable-speed compressor of this unit, allows it to adapt its output to the needs of the home with tiny adjustments between 25 to 100% capacity. This allows the system to operate longer at steadier, lower capacities, which ensures incredible energy efficiency and quiet operation with tighter temperature control than standard systems.

The Infinity 24 offers a number of benefits for technicians. Bluetooth technology is available on the outdoor unit, making it unnecessary to access outdoor unit diagnostic information inside the home. The equipment is compatible with an updated service tech app that includes the fault history of the unit, system parameters and interactive fault trees. Over-the-air software updates are available, and technicians can assess over 130 diagnostic points.

Carrier’s Aero 39M air handlers were noted by the judges for its advanced technology and custom features in a streamlined package. With the addition of ECM direct drive plenum fans in airway lengths as short as 18 inches, the Aero 39M fits in spaces that a traditional air handling unit may not.
