Carrier Japan joins Tsuyama Open Factory 2025 to engage local students

Carrier Japan welcomed 19 elementary school students and their families to its Tsuyama factory in Okayama Prefecture on July 25 as part of the Tsuyama Area Open Factory 2025 initiative. Organized by the Tsuyama Industrial Support Center, the annual program introduces local youth to the manufacturing industry.

This year marked Carrier Japan’s fifth participation in the initiative. The visit included a lecture on heat pump technology and a guided tour of the factory’s production lines, including those for the USX series modular chillers and advanced HVAC testing facilities. The event aimed to spark interest in engineering and manufacturing by offering students a close-up view of modern production processes.

Carrier Japan emphasized the value of connecting with the community and supporting youth education. The visit also coincided with the 123rd anniversary of Willis Carrier’s invention of modern air conditioning, providing context for the students on the industry’s historical significance.

“Our Tsuyama factory is a cornerstone of our domestic manufacturing network,” said Toru Kubo, President of Carrier Japan. “We continue to strengthen our proud roots in the local community while pursuing technological innovations to help shape a smarter, more sustainable future for all.”
