Carrier Japan’s USX series selected for WIPO’s Green Technology Book

Carrier Japan’s air-cooled modular chiller and heat pump series, Universal Smart X (USX), has been featured in the EXPO 2025 Special Edition of the Green Technology Book published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The recognition was announced at EXPO 2025 Osaka and highlights over 200 energy innovations from the Asia Pacific region contributing to a more sustainable future.

Carrier Japan, part of Carrier Global Corporation, is recognized for the USX series’ contribution to energy efficiency and modular design. The Green Technology Book focuses on innovative energy solutions from the Asia Pacific region, which WIPO describes as the world’s fastest-growing area and home to 60% of the global population.

The USX series has received multiple awards in Japan for its energy performance. The USX EDGE 32, commonly used in data centers and other commercial and industrial sites, received the highest honor at the 2021 Energy Conservation Grand Prize Awards. The USX FIT, featuring triplet rotary compressors and a compact, retrofit-friendly design, was awarded the top prize at the 2025 Demand Side Management Awards.

“Being featured in WIPO’s Green Technology Book reflects the strength of the USX series, not only as a technological innovation, but as a solution that meets the evolving needs of our planet as well as our customers,” said Toru Kubo, President, Carrier Japan. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to sustainability and our mission to deliver energy-efficient solutions.”
