Carrier Commercial Service and Automated Logic Field, both part of Carrier Global Corporation, have launched TechVantage Ignite, a new program to train future commercial HVAC technicians and controls engineers across the United States.
TechVantage Ignite combines classroom instruction, self-paced online learning, mentorship, and on-the-job training. It begins with a two-week session at Carrier University training centers in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kennesaw, Georgia. Participants in the first cohorts represent field offices in states including Arizona, California, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Texas, Utah, Washington, and West Virginia.
The one-year program aims to accelerate the learning and technical proficiency of early-career technicians and engineers. Training goals are supported by service and field managers throughout the process.
TechVantage Ignite is part of the broader TechVantage Initiative, launched by Carrier in January 2025, which aims to hire 1,000 new U.S. service technicians and provide training to more than 100,000 Carrier and partner HVAC technicians over the next five years. The initiative responds to increased demand for skilled labor in the HVAC sector, particularly in data centers, industrial sites, and infrastructure projects.
“We are thrilled to have the next generation of our business receive this early-career boost through the TechVantage Ignite program,” said Andy Bierer, Managing Director, Automated Logic Field.
“We’ve added more technicians this year than any of the past five years,” added Jay Hoarell, Managing Director of Carrier Commercial Service. “We are well on our way to hiring over 1,000 technicians in the next few years, thanks to the outstanding efforts of our teams all across North America.”
