Carrier Transicold to showcase new engineless transport refrigeration technology at CV Show

Carrier Transicold will introduce visitors to a new generation of engineless transport refrigeration technology, following the acquisition in February of Dutch firm TRS Transportkoeling b.v. (TRS). We can today offer fleets refrigeration units running entirely on hydro-electric power generated by a truck’s ultra-clean Euro VI engine, cutting emissions, maintenance costs and improving fuel efficiency. The TRS technology is also exceptionally quiet, and fully PIEK certified. The CV Show is also a great opportunity for Carrier Transicold to present the CO2 trailer prototype with UK retailer Sainsbury’s who has become the first customer in the world to take delivery. The delivery marks the first of a trio of Vector CO2 prototypes which will join the Sainsbury’s fleet this year as part of a three year technology field trial. It builds on the success of an earlier pilot in 2013 which saw the supermarket operate a modified version of Carrier Transicold’s NaturaLINE™ refrigeration system for deep sea containers – becoming the first naturally refrigerated trailer operating anywhere in the world.
