CIBSE UAE renamed to CIBSE MENA to reflect regional growth

CIBSE has announced the renaming of its United Arab Emirates division to CIBSE MENA, reflecting the expansion of its activities and membership across the broader Middle East and North Africa region.

Originally focused on the UAE, the division has seen increasing engagement in building services across multiple countries in the region. The new name aligns the organisation’s structure with the geographic spread of its members and the industry's growth across MENA.

According to the announcement, the restructured CIBSE MENA region will facilitate stronger networks, enhanced local engagement, and better support for professionals working in diverse markets. It aims to promote collaboration while maintaining consistent standards in building services engineering.

Ruth Carter, CEO of CIBSE, stated: “This expanded focus allows us to connect professionals across a much broader landscape, creating a richer exchange of knowledge, experience and innovation. Practically, it enables us to engage with more members on the ground, build stronger networks, and tailor our support to local contexts while maintaining consistent standards.”

CIBSE highlighted that this strategic evolution is designed to increase its relevance and presence wherever building services engineering is prominent, supporting professionals and advancing building performance and sustainability in the region.
