Toyota has launched a new Authorised Converter programme for bespoke LCV conversions, with CoolKit being one of the first businesses to receive the approved partner status.

This follows the launch of the programme at the CV Show, back in April, when a Proace was on display at the Toyota stand featuring a CoolKit chiller van conversion. The programme has been launched to guarantee a quality-assured conversion to Toyota customers within the refrigerated transport industry, together with other partners creating specialised conversions, such as bespoke racking systems and a Toyota Hilux Extra Cab Tipper.
The refrigerated conversion was based on a medium wheelbase model, creating an internal loadspace on 2,135mm length, 1,128mm width and 1,347mm height. A Hubbard Zanotti SFZ009 refrigerated unit was used on the vehicle with an under-chassis condenser and off-cycle defrosting. The conversion featured high-quality standard attributes such as hygienic GRP interior surface, reinforced resin floor and aluminium floor edge tread plates, together with extra specifications including LED loadspace lighting, strip curtains, drain hole and overnight standby.

Being part of this new Toyota Authorised Converter programme, confirms that CoolKit meets Toyota’s stringiest quality standards in every aspect of the conversion process, including warranty and aftersales service, providing customers with complete peace of mind when purchasing a refrigerated vehicle.
Gareth Matthews, Toyota’s LCV Manager, said: “These programmes have been developed in direct response to customer demand and the regular enquiries we were having about whether we could supply refrigerated vans or tippers for our all-new LCV line-up. What we are seeing today is the continuation of an exciting new LCV strategy that will see more businesses becoming Toyota Authorised Converters, and more types of vehicles being introduced to meet an even wider range of customer requirements.
“We congratulate our first authorised converters and look forward to welcoming more over the coming months to increase our coverage across the country.”
