CoolSys Acquires Mechanical Engineering & Construction Corporation

CoolSys, a leader in sustainable refrigeration, HVAC, energy, and engineering solutions, has acquired Mechanical Engineering & Construction Corporation (MEC2), a full-service mechanical engineering firm based in Maryland and Virginia. This acquisition enhances CoolSys' commercial and industrial capabilities and strengthens its presence in the mid-Atlantic region.

Rich Wyckoff, President and CEO of CoolSys, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the enhanced national presence and service capabilities that will help meet the needs of existing and potential customers.

Founded in 2003, MEC2 offers comprehensive services including commercial mechanical engineering, mechanical construction, start-up and commissioning work, HVAC service and maintenance, and building information modeling (BIM) coordination. Serving the greater District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Maryland areas, MEC2 operates from main offices in Catonsville, Maryland, and Ashburn, Virginia, with a centralized delivery facility.

Fred Kawa, Principal at MEC2, emphasized the company's dedication to delivering exceptional results and expressed excitement about continuing their legacy with expanded resources through CoolSys.

The acquisition is poised to bring significant benefits to both companies' clients, combining MEC2's expertise with CoolSys' broad capabilities.
