Corscale is nearing the launch of its initial 72MW data center at Gainesville Crossing Data Campus in Virginia, following the successful integrated systems testing (IST) of the Airedale by Modine cooling solution.
Airedale by Modine, collaborating with Corscale and their contractors on design, installation, and operations, has optimized system efficiencies. Airedale's performance during the IST was highly commended by Corscale's independent commissioning agent, who praised the team's optimization efforts.
The IST encompassed rigorous testing across four 18MW data halls, including emergency simulations like fast-start and sequencer tests. These tests validated the equipment's capacity to handle critical scenarios, ensuring reliability for the future hyperscale client leasing the data center space.
Airedale was selected for its innovative chiller economizer technology and deep industry knowledge. The installation at Gainesville Crossing features 56 OptiChillTM chillers, 256 AireWallTM fan wall units, and 8 SmartCoolTM air handling units, delivering 72 MW of cooling. Testing began in late 2023 and, with all phases now approved, the data center is prepared for handover.
Nic Bustamante, CTO of Corscale, appreciated Airedale’s technical expertise and commitment, stating, “They have gone above and beyond, sharing their knowledge to develop the most efficient and effective system for our clients.”
Rob Bedard, General Manager of Airedale by Modine North America, remarked, “Working with Corscale allows us to enhance efficiencies and sustainability. We look forward to more collaborative projects with Corscale.”
