At AHR Expo in Las Vegas, Daikin Applied announced the availability of Intelligent Equipment as a factory-installed option on Pathfinder AWV chillers, helping building managers gain unprecedented visibility to energy consumption and efficiency. The addition of Intelligent Equipment to Pathfinder helps customers find new avenues of energy efficiency and enhanced comfort to help their tenants to breathe easier.
Harnessing the power of the Internet of Things, Intelligent Equipment lets facility managers and owners more easily manage expenses and reduce energy costs. By connecting directly to Pathfinder at the equipment level, Intelligent Equipment reads over 150 data points in real time, allowing customers to monitor Pathfinder’s energy consumption. It helps customers trend a unit’s health and performance from commissioning through the life of the asset. And it stores all the data securely in the cloud, so customers can always track back to original commissioning.
Daikin Pathfinder AWV is the first fully-configurable air cooled screw chiller in North America to feature Variable Volume Ratio (VVR) technology, which allows the chiller’s compressor to optimize performance for every condition and at every hour of the day. As a result, the unit uses less energy, contributing to a lower carbon footprint. VVR technology, enhanced by Intelligent Equipment, maximizes Pathfinder’s efficiency at any operating condition and puts operators are more in charge than ever before. VVR combined with other variable technologies has the highest part-load efficiency (IPLV) of any air-cooled screw chiller product on the market, exceeding 22 IPLV in some configurations. Pathfinder offers flexibility even when working on challenging projects with space constraints or efficiency requirements. Intelligent Equipment is now a factory-installed option on two of Daikin Applied’s premier air cooled chillers, Pathfinder (screw) and Trailblazer (scroll) units, in addition to Rebel, RoofPak, and Maverick II products. Trailblazer chillers are designed for low-install costs and high performance with up to 10 percent better efficiency than competing offerings.
