Daikin Begins Construction on New Manufacturing Facility in Sydney
Daikin, a leading air conditioning manufacturer, has commenced construction of a new 7,500 square metre facility in Sydney’s west, with the project slated for completion by March 2025. This new site will expand upon Daikin’s Australian headquarters located at Chipping Norton.

Nicholas MacDonald, Daikin’s General Manager of Manufacturing, stated that the new factory will serve multiple purposes, including research and development, training, and production. This initiative is part of a long-term strategy aimed at designing and manufacturing products tailored to the needs of local businesses and homes.

MacDonald highlighted the critical role of TMX Transform, a supply chain and industrial property group, in the project's development. Daikin engaged TMX through an existing partnership, leveraging their expertise for due diligence, feasibility analysis, development approvals, and construction management.

Adam McDonald, Head of Operations at TMX Transform, emphasized the significance of Daikin’s investment in local manufacturing assets. He noted the complexity of the existing site and TMX’s role in understanding and delivering on Daikin’s specific needs to ensure optimal customer service.

This new facility underscores Daikin’s commitment to local manufacturing and innovation, positioning the company to better meet the demands of its Australian customers.
