Danfoss and Assemblin Caverion Group have signed a new framework agreement to strengthen their cooperation on building renovations and decarbonization efforts. The agreement aims to support customers with energy savings, improved indoor comfort, and reduced carbon emissions through optimized building performance.
The signing ceremony was held at Danfoss headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark, where Kristian Strand, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions, and Jacob Götzsche, Executive Chairman of Assemblin Caverion Group, formalized the partnership.
The agreement covers a wide range of applications across both the built environment and critical infrastructure. These include hotels, data centers, shopping centers, municipal buildings, hospitals, universities, kindergartens, energy parks, EV charging stations, solar parks, offices, and residential housing.
Both companies aim to deliver well-functioning indoor environments with minimal energy use. The collaboration will focus on applying energy-efficient systems and sustainable technologies to projects across Europe.
Kristian Strand stated, “Assemblin Caverion Group has been our preferred facility partner for a decade, and we have been extremely satisfied with our cooperation across all Danfoss locations. Their support has been instrumental in helping us achieve our target of becoming CO₂-neutral in our global operations by 2030.”
Jacob Götzsche added, “Through this framework agreement, we look forward to further extending our partnership with Danfoss and bringing our shared expertise in the built environment to the benefit of both building owners and users.”
A central focus of the partnership is adopting a lifecycle approach, where energy-efficient design and long-term maintenance planning are integrated from the start. This method can reduce annual energy and maintenance costs by up to 30%.
According to the companies, buildings account for over one-third of global energy consumption and nearly 40% of direct and indirect CO₂ emissions. Danfoss emphasizes that with the right technologies already available, accelerating implementation is the next step.
Danfoss and Assemblin Caverion Group have previously collaborated on key projects such as a major retrofit for Helsinki Energy and the Katri Vala heat pump plant in Finland, which provides heating for an entire medium-sized city. With the new agreement, both companies plan to expand their cooperation internationally.
