Danfoss and RefPower collaborate to offer customers energy-efficient screw compressors

Danfoss Commercial Compressors has entered into a strategic collaboration with Italian based, RefPower Srl, to introduce and sell new screw compressors to the European market.
Ranging from 180 to 500 kW, the compressors are suitable for large capacity heat pump and chiller applications, operating in large buildings. Under the agreement, Danfoss will have sales and marketing exclusivity for the screw compressors which will be branded “Danfoss Palladio Screw Compressors”. RefPower will be responsible for further developing and manufacturing the technology and will provide technical support as needed.

Both companies are confident that by combining RefPower’s Screw Compressor technology and know-how with Danfoss’ global customer access and strong application expertise, they will be able to serve their customer’s needs even better by leveraging the broad range of hydronic applications.

“With this agreement, we are proud to expand our offerings of innovative and energy-efficient solutions to an extended customer base,” says Kristian Strand, President Danfoss Commercial Compressors, “RefPower’s screw compressors uniquely complement our scroll and Turbocor© oil-free portfolio of compressors, extending technology and capacity options to meet even wider system requirements. We are bringing to the market a powerful line-up of compressor solutions, and this is just the beginning!”

“As we developed this very innovative range of screw compressors, we knew that finding the right international partner who could truly understand and appreciate our technology, and at the same time help boost sales internationally, would be equally important. With this collaboration, we are sure that we will reach our goals as the Danfoss Palladio Screw Compressors perfectly complement the Danfoss scroll and Turbocor portfolios. Moreover, in Danfoss, we have found a partner who share our passion for innovation and energy efficiency”, says David Candio, CEO RefPower Srl.

With this addition of screw compressors, Danfoss now offers the most complete range of compressor solutions on the market. When deciding what kind of compressor is suitable for a building, one must consider the size of the building, the energy intensity of the space, and the payback requirements. Danfoss is today offering scroll compressors which can enhance energy efficiency for low intensity applications at very competitive applied costs, and the very innovative Turbocor oil-free compressor technology well suited for higher energy intensity buildings, with competitive payback times. Now, with the new Danfoss Palladio screw technology, Danfoss is expanding its offering to include a very robust, and flexible solution for middle of the range intensity applications.
