Danfoss expands support for liquid cooling in data centers

Danfoss is increasing its focus on supporting the development of liquid cooling systems for data centers, with particular attention to Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs). The company said the shift is being driven by the rapid growth of AI and high-performance computing, as higher rack densities and thermal loads put pressure on traditional air cooling.

According to Danfoss, CDUs are a critical part of modern liquid cooling architectures because they manage performance, efficiency and footprint. The company said optimizing these systems requires technologies that work together, rather than individual components alone.

Danfoss said it supports OEMs and system integrators with modular solutions, integrated technologies and system-level expertise for the development of cooling architectures. Its portfolio for liquid cooling systems includes Alsmart controllers, heat exchangers, drives, sensors, pressure independent valves, and valves and strainers.

The company said this approach is intended to improve thermal performance, reduce system complexity, optimize footprint, and accelerate development and deployment. Danfoss also said its manufacturing footprint and supply chain across Europe, North America and Asia support customers scaling and deploying solutions globally.

“AI-driven data centers are pushing cooling technologies to new limits. What we see from our customers is a clear need for higher performance, better integration and faster scalability,” said Zachary Dominique, Global Head of Data Center Sales at Danfoss Climate Solutions. “With our modular solutions, broad portfolio and application expertise, we support the development of next-generation liquid cooling systems, helping our partners design and deploy high-performing CDUs with confidence.”
